Austin named one of the Top 25 Solar Cities by the U.S. Department of Energy, June 2008.
Austin is the most artsy city in Texas, according to a report by the National Endowment for the Arts. The accolade is based on the percentage of artists in the work force. Austin is also #20 out of the top 50 nationally. Austin recognizes the importance of artists to the cultural vitality and economic prosperity of the community. (June 2008)
