 Kyle is a charming community, and it is the second largest city in Hays County. It is often referred to with its close neighbor as "Buda/Kyle." At its site, the Balcones escarpment meets the blackland prairie. To the east there is farming and to the west, ranching. Kyle is a quickly growing area due to its laid-back life-style and easy access to San Antonio, Austin, and to the Texas Hill Country. Hundreds of new homes are currently under construction as new residents are attracted to Kyle's affordability, the high quality of education provided by the Hays County Independent School District, and to award-winning residential developments such as Plum Creek.  KYLE LOCATION AND FACTS -- Kyle is 23 miles south of Austin, 7 miles south of Buda, and 10 miles north of San Marcos. It is located in Hays County on I-35 and FM 150.
